Another home invasion happened to my friends family!!!!
My friend Nick's Mom and siblings live in Selden, well the night before last 3 men broke into thier home taking money from her wallet a nextel phone then took the keys to her truck and stole thier truck!!! I guess they went 2 towns over and attempted to rob a small store but were caught. The police called Nick's family at 6am to tell them that her truck was found. They were all still sleeping so no one even new that anything even happened. But thank God no one was hurt. There are so many of these home invasions happening right now it can't all be the same people!!! It's really scary. I used to leave my door open (with only the screen door closed) until I'd go to bed at like 11pm. Not anymore I even keep it shut during the day. It's so upsetting that we have to live like prisoners in our own homes.

Are you kidding me? This is getting out of control. I saw in the Post yesterday people on Long Island are going out and buying shot guns now b/c there is no waiting period. Ughh...so sick.

I never leave my door unlocked - not even the balcony door to my apt 19 floors up....you never know what freak is lurking and waiting to enter your home.

newsday.com is saying there was one this AM in north bellmore on leonard street, I saw on the news there was another one in Inwood last night
It is very scary. I was only one to lock up everything but now I do it all the time even when we are home during the day and we leave tons of lights on outside and inside all the time now. I hate feeling this way.

The thing that scares me the most is where I'm located. A friend of mine said that they are mostly targeting home on corners of busy streets near the parkways. My house is exactly that, I'm literally one block from a major parkwat and right on the corner!!!

Gosh this is SO scary! Thank God no one has been hurt during any of these robberies..and at least they caught the guys who robbed your friend.

These home invasions are so scary!!! When I was little my parents used to leave the front door open not just inlocked!
Its sad that we have to bolt our doors at night..but this is the world we live in
