Another inconsiderate loser!

This past weekend DH and I went to a wedding in MD and decided to spend the next day sightseeing in DC.

We went thru the Vietnam memorial and this guy was letting his two little girls (I'm guessing they were 10 and 8) just completely run wild. They were dragging themselves along the wall, using the base (where people place memorials) as a balance beam. They nearly destroyed a bunch of memorials in doing so. They blocked many people views - one person, obviously a vet himself, was crying and they nearly knocked him down. Now the father is just watching all this clueless - doesn't he realize the levity of this wall... what it represents!! It is parents like this guy that makes me wish that the government had to grant permission to have children.

That's so disgusting and their father should be ashamed of himself!! I was at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam a few summers back and it was obviously a very moving experience for everyone in there. This woman was letting her kids run around screaming and I swear, I wanted to KILL HER!!

That's so inconsiderate. And then people wonder why people are in shows like supernanny.

than again i used to run around in the cemetary. It was theonly grassI ever got to see ....but my aprnets would enver elt me do that with other people around

That' a really good point. Is ee peopel taking thier kids palces that are so inapproprauite to bring a child. I eman if he wasn't going to teach the kids anything about the memorial, why did he bring the kids there? I think HE needed somsone to teach HIM about it

it's like kids in church, it's a big pet peeve of mine

if you are a single parent and you have no alternative, that is one thing, but if you can, you should try to leave the kids with someone

plus, there's a difference between whiny and screaming....if the kid is screaming, take him outside or in some churches, they have a crying room.

I hate these parents that will let the kid scream in church and expect us all to sit and deal with it.

I would have asked for his name and address and submitted it to The Nanny!! Some people should not have kids

wow i would love to see the house - i must have read that book 10 times.

I am appaled by the way some people let their children behave.
