Another invitation addressing question

If there is a family with 3 kids that are invited, ages 19, 16 and 13 should it be:

Mr. and Mrs. John Doe, Nicole, Eileen and Steven

or

Mr. & Mrs. John Doe and Family

Should the children get thier own invitations? Should the 19 and 16 year olds be invited with guests? This is so confusing?

We also have one that has their older son, who is 16, invited. How should we handle that?

Thanks for your help!

OUTSIDE: Mr. & Mrs. Doe and Family

INSIDE envelope:
John, Nicole, Eileen and Steven

I invited anyone over 21 with a guest (or if I knew they were dating someone and if they were 20 I invited them with a guest).
It depends on how well you know them. I would NOT invite the 16 yr old with a guest. If the 19 year old gets a guest then you can give them a separate invitation.

I hope that helps!

Re: Another invitation addressing question

Do you have an outer and inner envelope? If so, then you would address it how CaCRmr suggested.

If it's only an outer, I would do:
Mr. & Mrs. Doe and Family

As far as the kids are concerned, I think anyone over the age of 18 living at home gets their own invite. If they were part of a family, I left it as is and invited the whole family.

Hope this helps!

Re: Another invitation addressing question

So we are ok if we just invite all 3 kids as 'family' and not with guests?

The 19 year old is away at college and probably won't be coming anyway (I think).

This is so stressful! Did anyone else find this very stressful?
