Another invite wording question.....

Another invite wording question.....

My FH is arguing with me right now about the wording on our invite.

He wants to go with choice one, writing 'two thousand and twelve.' While I think it should simply be 'two thousand twelve.'

His reason? GOOGLE has 3.5 million searches for the phrase 'two thousand and twelve' so he thinks its probably more commonly used on wedding invites.

I've only been to 2 weddings recently but they both said Two thousand and eleven. I think its your personal preference though

Proper ettiquette is two thousand twelve...where numbers are used the word 'and' indicates a decimal and wouldn't be appropriate when referring to years...with that said most people don't know that and use what they want..lol..I think two thousand twelve sounds better

So, being a math teacher (not a wedding ettiquette guru), I can tell you the proper way is 'two thousand twelve'...just like it was mentioned above, the 'and' indicates a decimal so 'two thousand and twelve' would indicate 20.12

Either way, as long as you don't put Twenty Twelve.

I'd go for Two Thousand and Twelve though.

I am a math teacher and the correct way to write the number is two thousand twelve. 'And' is only supposed to be used when saying a number with a decimal to separate the whole number and decimal part. Hope that helps!

Not a math teacher - but I wrote two thousand thirteen on mine. It just sounds better. To me the 'thousAND AND' sounds silly when read aloud.

Thanks ladies! Either way is fine, obviously just personal preference. I know its not THAT big of a deal. But I like the way 'two thousand twelve' sounds better and I was able to convince him. He was laughing @ my poll

Congrats on deciding! When planning our wedding, I was amazed at all the little things (like this) that came up that I never even thought about before!!
