Another Newbie!

Hi everyone!

I too have been 'lurking' around and was inspired to join after reading MissO22's post.

I am not engaged right now either, but it will be anytime between now and July!! I know this because in August I am moving down to NC to be with my boyfriend. (Leaving NY!!)

Here's the quick story....we met while he was finishing med school in NYC! Right after our 1yr. anniv. (this past June) he moved back home to NC to do his residency. So it's been long distance since then...

Anyway - we've talked alot and are really excited about the things to come!!! Right now we aren't sure yet about the date..but it will definitely be in Oct. '08...and in LI!!!

Can't wait to hear your stories and ask questions!!

Hi & welcome! FH & I are thinking about moving down to NC after the wedding, where abouts are you moving to?

I'll be going to Winston-Salem or maybe just outside of it. (small town)But after 2 years we want to go to either Charlotte or Wilmington.

It really is amazing down there and affordable! Everytime I go down he shows me a new part of the state! If you have any questions about it just let me know!

Is there an area you are looking at?

yup, we're looking in raleigh. FH has a lot of family there. If it were up to me I'd go to charlotte b/c then we're closer but not TOO close to his family but his sister is sick and he wants to be available for her. It is ridiculously affordable, just for a good time I went on craigs list and put in the price i'm willing to spend on a house here and a price i'm willing to spend on a house there. Here I can get a shack in huntington, there I can practically get a mansion with rooms I've never even heard of! Who has a sitting area in their bedroom? I WOULD!

that's really sweet that he wants to be near her. is she very sick? I hope everything works out okay...it must be tough for him, being here while she is there.

haha...ive done the craigs list too...it's crazy what you can find...I found one house (i mean mansion of a sort) it had an 'elevator' inside....I love looking and imagining what house we will get!! Raleigh is very nice too - and at least CLT is not that far. Either way - you are only a few hrs. from the coast and mtns. Have you been to the Outerbanks? Or Aeshville?
