I am in this situation now. MY MOH decided to take on the bridal shower herself(she kind of alienated the bridal party, more for financial reasons, she planned an expensive shower and my girls could not afford it) and one bridesmaid is planning the bachelorette party w/me, the other two girls have pretty much said they are too busy and have little money and do not return telephone calls or emails for a while.

Mine are keeping me sane.

One is far away, and another has a ridiculously busy life right now (and I've entirely let her off the hook--BTDT), but the other two have been fabu and helping out with all sorts of things. Even the long-distance one has been super with the pep talks!

Mine were fantastic! Mom and grandma paid for the entire thing, but my girls organized everything from invite lists, to creating and sending invites (Matisse boating theme), coordinating getting a wishing well, decorations and getting people to the place. They also worked with the caterer (Wall's Wharf) and planned the menu, and got a cake from a fantastic bakery (Loafer's in Glen Head). They had many email/phone call sessions and were really organized. I could not ask for better friends or family.

I have three adult attendants (and also two teen nieces) two of which are my best of friends. One is FH's very good friend. Two are incredibly busy people with careers and two have children. I am making things very easy for them. As I sit putting together a guest list, I am also putting together a shower list so they dont have to run around getting addresses. Once that is all together, I hand it to either the Maid or Matron of Honor and say 'don't go nuts, just have fun'. I already asked my sisters and mother to help them out to lessen the burden. My sisters (who are not in the BP and are glad NOT to be) LIVE for this stuff and have offered to help on numerous occasions with various parts of wedding planning (sometimes too many but hey it helps sometimes). If my mom's finished basement didn't have water damage from a flood last year, I'd tell them to do it there - we have had MANY showers in that room and it was just fine. Bagels, cream cheese and coffee is enough for me. Throw in a balloon and a cheesy cake and its all good!

My MOH bought the cake, that was the extent of my BPs involvement. Oh and most of them came and brought a present.

Same here. I feel funny asking. I can't even get them to give the deposit for the dresses!!!

My MOH is very involved...so excited!!! My BM is not as much involved, but she's going through so much with two young boys that I completely understand.
Regarding the bridal shower...if my MOH & BM is not throwing me one...I'm out of luck. They're all I have.

I do have two absolutely wonderful friends who are not in the BP that asked if my Cousin/MOH is throwing me a shower because they know my Mom is gone. Good friends...real true friends.

I'm not sure who is paying for my shower, I think a combination of the BMs, MOH and my mom. I was told that I was not allowed to help!! All I know is that they have been planning for months. So they are all very involved.

for the shower, they were all pretty much great. my mom and my two sisters (who were my MOH's) put it all together. My neice and BM was there and helped a lot. And my other BM helped too, though she arrived late to the actual shower which annoyed me

So far...of my 4 person BP, only 1 person has 'been there' for me. And that is my preg MOH! My other MOH lives in VA, so it's been tough. The other girls in BP are FH's sister and his SIL. They don't talk about the wedding unless I bring it up, which I try not to b/c I don't want to be seen as the wedding is all I talk about.
