Another problem concerning Flower Girls...

Ok, besides the wedding party issues, we were thinking about the flower girl. Now, friends of ours have a little girl, (she'll almost be 5 by the time we get married), my fiance and I just adore her. We're pretty close to this couple so we thought it would be nice to have her as the flower girl. I mentioned it to my FMIL and she said great, but what about my fiance' cousins? Now I'm not sure how old his cousins are but there are a lot of them. And if we have one, then we have to have them all. Well, that's what my FMIL says... (I don't think so) You know, we're paying for this wedding ourselves, and for someone who's not contributing, they sure have a lot of input... What do I do??? We thought not having bridemaids would cut down on the cost because we wouldn't have to worry about bouquets, and now it went from one flower girl to like 7. Please, please, please help me!!!

Another problem concerning Flower Girls...

It will be tough to tell your FMIL this but since you guys are paying for the wedding yourselves I think you should tell her that it will get too involved with 7 flower girls. I think it is impossible to make everyone happy so you should really worry about what you and your fiance want. My sister was in a similar situation and she told our cousins that she only asked the one 4 year old becasue she was the perfect age for a flower girl.

Melissa- I agree with Colleen. Tell your family that there would be too many if you asked all of the cousins too. If you want to involve them somehow, perhaps you could come up with some little things for them to do to help out. good luck.
