In my programs I have a section for Parents of the Bride and I am listing my Parents. My FI's father passed away. Do i write Parents of the Groom and list both of them, or just write Mother of the Groom? In the back we are going to say something like 'in loving memory of FI's father'. Thanks!

Re: Another Program Question - Deceased Parent
I would say since you are mentioning him in memory on the back, not to mention him again in the parents section of the program.

I agree with LizD, having him only in the 'Memory' section is the appropriate way to honor him.

Re: Another Program Question - Deceased Parent
I was in the same situation. On the first page we dedicated our program to my father and DHs mother. Then just listed my mother and his father in the 'cast of characters' section.

I did both - in the parents section I wrote my mom's name and The Late Michael XXX...and I wrote a dedication later on in the program. I think either way is appropriate.

Re: Another Program Question - Deceased Parent
I had to deal with this same question. I could not imagine not putting my mom's name for Parents of the Bride, evne though we have a memory page in the program. SO someone on this site I think Princess, gave me a suggestion I really liked. I will put:
Parents of the Bride - Dad's name The Beloved (moms name)
Now that Len's father just passed, we are doing the same thing for him.
Parents of the Groom The Beloved (dad's name) Mom's name
We are very happy with our decision.

Wanted to add, I don't think there is any wrong or inappropriate way to handle this. Do what is in your heart.

Re: Another Program Question - Deceased Parent
OK - I have another question. FMIL will be escorted by one of her good friends. Do I mention him in the program? When we are announced into the reception they will say something along the lines of 'Mrs Sue Smith escorted by Mr. Joe Blow'.

Re: Another Program Question - Deceased Parent
I wouldnt put him in the program unless he is an Usher. Or if you put a separate line in the order of ceremony like 'Entrance of Mothers' or whatever, then you could put on the same line Escorted by Jim Doe. I wouldnt put him in the space for Wedding Party tho'.

Re: Another Program Question - Deceased Parent
I have the same situation. I set it up as:
Parents: My parents His Mom
In Memory of: His Dad xxxxx xxxxx I have his dad lined up with the parents, whereas bridal party names and in memory names are more indented.
