We have been looking around for photographers for a little while now. This decision is the hardest decision I've ever made in my life. How did everyone decide that their photographer was the one they wanted? Any advice will help!!

You have to feel comfortable with the person. You're going to be working with them all day.

A comfort level... easy conversation, jokes, pleasantries... I just felt really comfortable with him. We could also tell that he just really knew his stuff... has been in the business a long time... his work was wonderful. He also wasn't so quick to sell us this 'amazing' package or pushing us to get this or that.

photographers are really impt to me. i havent booked yet, but so far ive made a list of the ones im interested in.
basically ive asked around for referrals, looked at a lot of websites, checked out the pics & reviews on this site & other sites. You can start that way.

definitely personality and how they make you feel!When we booked Christine with SPelman studios she just had this great personality out of everyone i saw and I wanted her to be the one to take my pictures!!!!

a lot of factors: artistic eye, pricing, getting a lot for our money, personality, references/reliability.
In the end it just felt like he 'clicked' for us. We loved his work, his pricing was fair and we get a lot for our money, he has a good reputation, and most of all, we just felt relaxed and comfortable with him.

We didn't know until we knew!
In other words, we were in the same position and wondering but after we spent an hour with our photog (Franklin Square Photography) - we walked out without being pressured, spoke to each other and walked back in and booked!

Personality of the photographer & by looking at the proofs (if I lot of them were throw aways vs. tons of great shots)!

we decided by seeing their work which we fell in love with and also we had ALOT of refrences and knew ALOT of people who used them. We felt extremely comfortable.

I went to Patken because two of my friends used them and I saw how they were on the wedding day and then the final results......they are the only photographer I went too. You have to see their work and of course, $$ is a big factor!

Aside of budget I think recommendations, their body of work and how your click with them is very important. You have to find someone that will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. Let's face it none of us are accustomed to walking down the red carpet with a bunch of pics being snapped. Good luck!
