Has anyone on the pill moved their period back a week. I'm supposed to get mine the first day of our honeymoon. My friend said to skip the sugar pills and take two packs in a row. I was wondering if anyone has done this.

Re: Another question about the pill
I have done this and I thought it worked...it did work for about 5 days and then I had my period for like two weeks straight!!! I tried this while on Ortho Tri Cyclen, which has three levels of hormones, but I think it really works if you have the single hormone pill.

DON'T DO IT!!!! .
<---------READ MY QUOTE
Unless you're ready and willing to accept that as a possible outcome!!!
My period was due the week of the wedding and I had never played around w/my pills before. I was able to successfully change my period to a more convenient timing but THEN LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!
To be completely honest -- the time zone changes we passed through for our HM also could have had something to do with it I think!!!
If you do decide to do this, just keep taking pills -- start a new pack immediately and skip your period alltogether. But then again, look at who that's coming from....
But most importantly, I would say: USE A BACKUP METHOD OF BIRTH CONTROL while on the HM!! There is just far too much baby dancing going on during a HM to take chances with a screwed up cycle...
HTH -- if you have any more questions, feel free to FM me!!

Re: Another question about the pill
Ask the Gyno. I’ve been on the same pill since I was 18.. that means a little over eleven years. My body is nearly like clockwork.
I was scheduled to have my period during my honeymoon, so I asked and she said just keep taking the pill. So I did. But I was VERY timely about the pill for months leading up to that. I mean I would watch the clock and at the EXACT same hour of EVERY day I took that pill, including while we were on honeymoon.
The question is, do you not what your period or do you not want to get pregnant. I don’t mind getting pregnant on my honeymoon I just didn’t want my period.

Oh and I wanted to add. You could always just knock it off a week now. Take it one week early or late and then just follow the packs on the new timeline. USE PROTECTION and by the time your wedding comes around you’ll be on the adjusted cycle.

Re: Another question about the pill
Ask your gynecologist, but rather than 'moving it back a week' why not just skip it that month? In other words, just skip your iron (or sugar) pills and start your next pack immediately. Two of my good friends did this for their weddings and they were very happy they did, no side effects or problems. (But again, best bet is to just consult your doctor)

You have a great sense of humor. Congrats again, though on your 'hm baby'

I agree with Xelindria, try to move your period (with the consultation of your doc, of course) now, before your wedding. This way any little spotting/protection snafus can be cleared up before then. Of course use a back up while adjusting.

Re: Another question about the pill
I just spoke to my gyno about this bc I am suppose to have my period for my wedding...she told me to skip the sugar pills next month & take the active pills for another month...this will cause me to miss my period next month & get it a week earlier for remainder of the months

Re: Another question about the pill
i work in ob/gyn .... don't worry..... it should work
it's very unlikely to get pregnant with this method unless you forget to take the pills

I agree, do it in advance! I did get bad spotting and cramping the month I skipped, and my face really broke out, which it never does...
