another registry topic

do you girls know anything about a HM registry? I was thinking about doing one, but I don't know exactly how they work. Also, do you think its something the guests would think is 'weird' like something that they would not want to do?

I wanted to do this, since my wedding budget does not include a dime for our honeymoon... but I personally think it is weird myself and I know FH does not like the idea so we would not be comfortable asking for that. We already know our registrys for china and such probably wont even be fulfilled so I dont know what we are going to do. I figure any cash we get at the wedding will go towards the honeymoon if we dont have a lot of day of debt.

I think it's a good idea. FH and I aren't going to do a honeymoon registry because we don't live together right now and really need all of the home registry items. I would rather get gifts off my registry that will help fill our home with everything we need. If we already lived together and/or already had a lot of the home items that we need then I would probably do a honeymoon registry.

IMO, I always thought it was a little weird to register for the HM. Our HM plans are not going to run FI and I much more than what we spent last time we went to Jamaica so we are just going to register for home stuff.

yea, I agree that it is a little weird, although it would be nice to have a little extra go towards the HM!!!!! o well, maybe i'll steer clear of that idea - thanks girls!

Honeyfunds(honeymoon registry) are definitely becoming a lot more popular now...FH and I where told by many people who have done them that they are great and helped pay for spa treatments and lots of excursion..so me and FH may possibly do one as well.

It's very common to do this now. The only issue I have with it is I don't think you get to be specific on what they get for you.

For instance lets say you set this up- and someone decides getting you both facials is a good idea.. yet you're not interested in facials. I think you're stuck. I could be wrong. But it would suck if you get things you wouldn't even want when you could have had that nice dish set for your home instead.
