Another shower question

Hello everyone!
I am a MOG and I have been going on this site with my FDIL for a few months. The things we have learned have been invaluable!
Well, I finally got my own screen name so that I can ask questions without her knowing it's me!
So here is my first question: My husband and I are paying for half of the wedding expenses plus the rehearsal dinner.
The bridesmaids are now planning the shower. They are all young with very little$. I said I would contribute, but lets keep it simple and fun.
I can fit 35 people comfortably in my home, but there are at least 50 invited.
I'd like it to be under $20 a person.
ANY SUGGESTIONS????

Hi!!!!! I'm Mary!! My Daughter, Debi, married in Long Island, this past June. We're from Lancaster, Pa. Now my other Daughter, Donna, is marrying in Aug. 09, here in Pa. I'm paying for my Daughter's shower, as I did with Debi. I'll FM you, since Donna wants to be surprised at her Shower. Don't know if she comes on this site much, but gotta be careful!! She was going through my computer pics, and there were some pertaining to her Shower!!!! Mary

Re: Another shower question

Hi I, too, have been the MOG two times. My younger son and his fiancee were living out of town at the time so I gave my DIL a shower here in New York. I did have it in a restaurant, but there is plenty you can do from your home.

Have you thought about doing a cold buffet lunch? If you have a good deli that you go to and that knows you you can get deli meats that will come with breads and salads. That usually costs less than $20.00 per person. Then you make some extra food on your own if you like and get a beautiful cake. Make a punch instead of liquor or wine which a lot of people prefer.

This is just an idea. Hope it goes well and keep us informed as to your progress and if you need any more help.

I had a brunch shower for my daughter. The price was very reasonable and everyone liked it as it was something different.

I had it at a restaurant, Runyons in Seaford. The East Meadow Runyon's Roadhouse also does a brunch. The price was very reasonable. FM me if you want further information.
