I am SO mad right now that my district closed (Miller Place). I guess because Miller Place and Sound Beach are very hilly areas with winding roads and such. I was happy about a 2 hour delay, but you see, my school district doesn't get Snow Days. If we use one, they generally will just give it to us, but if we use TWO or More, they start taking it away from our other vacations, beginning with Memorial Day weekend. I would have SO much preferred a delay . . .
I know . . . some of you are probably like 'Why is this girl complaining,' but right now I am just venting . . . (and SICK of being stuck in the house.)

i am the opposite, i would rather a snow day than drive in this freezing weather! LOL! but my school is using a 2 hr delay, but we called all the parents and told them to keep the kids home (we only have 24 students) if they can.

WEll, I understand BriBir about the snow day, but I know the roads out by me (on the North Fork) are still really crappy and I'm not too far from your district, so I can imagine. I have to drive from here to St James to go to school because my kids only have a one hour delay, and I'm really nervous about it since I have a mustang. Ice and a mustang do not mix well. But most of my kids will not be in for a while because they use district buses, so if their district has a two hour delay, they won't be there for two hours, and if their district does not have school, they won't be in at all.

rachel, do you have any bricks or big bags of kitty litter? put it in your trunk, evenly distributed. i had a mustang convertible last year and i found that if i put in cynder blocks or anything really heavy in the trunk that it helped so much! my dad gave me that tip.

I have a ton of sand and kitty litter in it, but it doesn't really help. I should probably get new tires, so it's a waste! But thanks for the tip!
