Just wondering how the insect situation is in Tahiti. Do they have tons of huge bugs or did you hardly notice any at all? Also, are the bungalos private & safe to be in? Just wondering b/c I am never able to see the type of door or windows from pics that I have seen. Thanks

the bungalos are private and completely safe.
the bug problem wasnt a big deal, we hardly noticed them.. but when they got you, they got you! they itched for a bit and then it was over!

The Hotels spray almost everyday for insects. So we really didn't see any bugs. The bungalows are pretty private, it depends on what type of bungalow you reserve. Bungalow doors have locks and we felt very safe.

Our hotel rooms had bug spray in the closet, which made me nervous, but we never saw any bugs. The hotel sprayed the grounds so there really was no problem. Just don't leave any food laying around or you may find ants.
As for the safety, we felt completely safe. All the bungalow doors looked just like any other hotel room door.
