I figured FFIL should be wearing a tux but....he just doesn't get why he should rent a tux he'll never wear again. He just wants a dark suit. Do you think this is okay or should I go bridezilla and make him get a tux?
My mom says it won't be so bad considering there's no Father of the Bride. My brothers in law are walking me down (I think, I might change my mind and go alone haha!) so they would probably wear tuxes.
What do you think? TIA

It's totally up to you, but would he even consider buying his own Tux? They're not so bad in price and he may be invited to some black tie affairs. Our wedding is Black Tie and a lot of guys said they've been invited to them more and more.

Honestly, I don't think anyone is going to even notice what he's wearing. I am a firm believer in picking and choosing your battles (especially with future inlaws!). Everyone is going to be looking at how beautiful you are, no one will even notice what he is wearing. I wouldn't sweat it.

Knowing FFIL (and I love him to pieces) he's not gonna be invited to black tie events at all. He's a true working class kinda guy. I think the tux thing is just against his upbringing.

FI swears there's no way in hell we're getting his father in a tux either. Of course, BP is wearing kilts and my father flatly REFUSED to do that. I'm not going to sweat it. He'll just look like a waiter in the posed pictures (which there probably won't be many of anyway).

I didn't think my Stepfather would wear a tux, but at Easter he said yeah!! I am actually really excited because I was told he 'Doesn't wear tux's!' But I would have been fine with him not wearing one.

Then going with a suit... I think that'll be real nice. Plus, he'll be happier in it and it won't be a waste.

To rent or buy? I guess it depends. You can get a good price from Men's Wearhouse if you're buying. It could be anywhere from $300 and up. My FH bought a Calvin Klein tux for about $300 and you can always find coupons. My father got a nice Italian one for $400.

Did your FH buy his tux from Men's Wearhouse? Do they have brand names there? $300 isn't bad considering a tux rental costs about $250!!!!

All their tuxes are name brand... he bought the Calvin Klein tux from them and the guys are renting the Calvin Klein tuxes. FH's is nicer b/c he's buying it, but the rentals are very nice too.
