so my dress is not white, the best i can describe it is seashell white. lol Do you think a white veil will look good with it or will there be a big color difference. Anyone else did white veil and a different white dress (i say different because for some reason there is a million types of white when it comes to wedding dresses )

Re: another veil question - this time color
I never knew there were so many shades of white until I started looking for a dress! My dress was a very light ivory (you could only tell it was not white if it was next to something that was stark white). I would suggest getting a swatch of your gown or try the veil on at a fitting because with all the shades it can sometimes be very noticeable and might looks like something is off in the pictures. I would try to get a veil that is as close to the shade of your dress as possible. Hope that helps!

seashell white.... hmm.... like a mother of pearl white? My gown color is actually called Pearl by the manufacturer, and the bridal consultant said the closest color would be Diamond White aka Silk White for the veil. Do you have a picture?

Dress twin, I went with diamond white veil. Only the top poofy part appears whiter than my dress.

ok....I know there are a million shades of white as there are names. I would say get a veil that's close to the antique white, creamish color.
Now another thing you have to keep in mind that your dress is going to be lighter than what you see on the pic and online. These photos are professionally enhanced and they play around w/ the lighting....so see if you can find something on the creamish side or darker white. My dress looks nothing like the pic, it is much lighter and the beading does not stand out as much.
A diamond white may not look bad if you're planning to incorporate silver threading or beading on the veil ,since your dress has that. Also notice that the model on your pic is wearing a white tulle comb and it looks good...if that helps.

If your dress is off white in any way, I wouldn't get a white veil. My dress is ivory, but it's a very light ivory, not yellow tinged at all, probably closer to the pearl or seashell you're describing. I tried on veils at the shop that were white as the sample, and you really could tell the difference, even though my dress is still very light as ivories go.
