Let one of my friends pull that nonsense on me............HA! First of all they never would.

Let it go and just eat it up. It's not worth it. You'll know better next time.

But I do have a similar story... FI and I have a friend who lives in Hawaii. So we go out there with 2 other couples for his wedding. Bare in mind this is out of a group of about 20 guys who've known each other from grade school. Long story short they had a little get together at their house to which they asked us to each bring something to eat, and if we wanted something alchohalic to drink we'd have to bring that too because his fi and her family don't drink or just give them money if we couldn't bring anything (***??? We're staying in a hotel. How would we be able to BRING something!!!). I swear this is a true story!!! I couldn't believe it. My FI told his friend no way. Spending the thousands of $$ to be there was enough. So we went out to dinner that night at a nice restaurant and caught up later. But it was definitely an outrageous request. People make me laugh!!

Omg, I can't believe that!! Seriously, some people!! To invite you to a party and then ask for $$, that's tacky. It would be one thing if she had asked you all to chip in beforehand, but to request $40 from everyone for a small GTG; what the heck was she serving??? Nope, no way I would've given her a dime at that point, who cares if she thought you were cheap, she's being rude!!!

OMG!!! I would never host a party if I wasn't willing to pay to host the party....what she did was rude and tacky!!! If she would have said something beforehand, that would have been a different story, but putting your friends on the spot like that is just really inconsiderate!
