Another Vent

I vented last night about guests saying they were coming and then backing out. Well tonight I got a message from one of my friends and it annoyed me. He and his wife live in SC, and RSVP'd that they'd both come. In his message, he says that she can't come b/c they can't afford the plane tickets, but he just booked his, oh, and how can he get from LGA to the hotel, and then can he have a ride to the church with another guest, and how can he get to NEWARK the next day for his return flight? W T F??? So I left him a message in response saying I'm sorry his wife can't come, but he should probably rent a car since all my other guests are flying in/out of Islip and it's a 30 min drive between the church and the RH.

Seriously, though, is he crazy?? I didn't do official STDs, but sent all my friends messages and talked to them as soon as we set a date, so they knew to plan for Memorial Day weekend rates and make reservations. I don't have time to play travel agent. Plus, shouldn't people look into how much it will cost when they're an OOT guest at a wedding? For his wedding last year (in SC), before I responded I made sure I could find a good flight for me and FH, booked the hotel room, and arranged for a rental car. Isn't that what you do, instead of waiting until the last minute??

Okay, vent over. I just really can't believe people!

OMG, like you don't have enough going on, now you have to take care of his travel plans? Is he crazy? I hope he takes it upon himself to take care of himself, does his wife normally do this stuff for him? and now he's lost w/o her? Weird?!?!?!?

I really think he just waited until the last minute. We were roommates in grad school and that was kinda his style...allow someone else to do the planning and show up. When he had to plan something himself, he was always late. He's a big boy now, time to grow up!!
