I had a friend that I invited to my shower... she RSVPed yes, and didn't show. No follow up phone call to apologize or explain....
If she never explains herself can I un-invite her to the wedding? I'm really aggravated that she didn't explain herself and just didn't show like that, that's rude.

Maybe I am totally wrong on this one but if my mom/sister invited someone to my shower and they invited yes but were a no-show without any kind of explanation I would be kinda upset. I think I would actually take them off of the guest list for the wedding. I don't need people RSVPing yes, paying a ridiculous amout of $$ for them to eat and then have them not show up.

This is exactly it. My shower was a complete surprise other than the fact I knew I was having one. My mom my MOH and my cousins did EVERYthing (centerpieces, favors, etc).... and then to not show? and no follow up phone call today? I'll give it a week, but if I don't hear from her, I think I'm pulling her invite. Ettiquette be dam*ed.

Re: Another Would You Be Annoyed
did you send out invites yet?
you really shouldn't (or can't tactfully) uninvite someone.
but if they haven't gone out yet?!

Hmmmm is this typical of her? If so, I think it would be legit to express your concerns to her. If this is a first offense, maybe try to see what happened first?
I'd be annoyed - but ya can't un-invite her. I would just be done with her after the wedding though...

My invites did not go out. I'll see what shakes out this week.
I'm not really interested in how tactful it is, no explanation as to why you RSVPed Yes and didn't show... I can send the invite to someone who would like to come instead.

Re: Another Would You Be Annoyed
It is rude, but I think there's always someone who does that. I think it's extremely rude to RSVP yes to somewhere and not show. At least give a call to give a heads up or an apology. I'm going to expect that somebody will do this at my wedding though.
I don't know if I would uninvite her to the wedding. See if she gives you a call. Is this a close friend?
