antibiotics - grrrrrr

It makes me so angry when people say 'oh you should go take an antibiotic' when someone is not feeling well.
Antibiotics are ONLY for bacterial infections, they WILL DO NOTHING for a viral infection, except make bacteria more resistant to that antibiotic.
People need to learn that antibiotics should be used with discretion and are not the cure for everything.
If Drs. keep prescribing antibiotics for people who don't need them then eventually antibiotics won't work anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's so funny that you posted that b/c my FH and i were at the diner last night for dinner and the couple behind us was talking about that. The man suggested that his wife go get an antibiotic for her viral infection. He kept going on and on how it would help her. We were like uh no, not for something viral it won't. But whatever.
