For those of you spending upwards of $50G on your wedding... do you already own a home?

I am curious because i know a couple of my friends who actually took a HELOC for a bigger wedding. I have a lot of home improvement projects that take much higher precedence than my wedding, so I won't bother with a HELOC.

If you don't own a home, do you anticipate that you will make the money back in gifts, etc and will then use the money as 'seed money'?

we own a two family as an investment and are going to use the wedding gifts (and then some) as a down payment on a single family home.
