Help!! Lately I have become more anxious, emotional & overwhelmed. What can I do to calm the nerves? I would like to avoid meds LOL
FH and I have gotten into some disagreements and I'm trying to compromise on some things but some of his requests I just want to scream

Re: Anxious & overwhelmed
is it wedding-related anxiety? If so, you have PLENTY of time. take a few days away from planning and websites and checklists and clear your head. get some good sleep and once you feel a little calmer, take a look at your list and figure out what you have to get done this week, and only focus on those items. Don't jump ahead, just take it a little bit at a time.
when there's something you and fh will potentially disagree on, approach the convo calmly and explain to him why you want it a certain way. if he sees how important something is to you and it's for a good reason, I'm sure he'll want to do whatever it is that will make you happy.

for wedding anxiety take a few days off. I already did. My mind was racing!
then take the top 3 items that NEED to be addressed and work on them, as they get finished or in order pick another item to add to your top 3.
Do you work out (gym, walking)? It's a good way to clear your mind.
And if all else fails, feel free to vent away here. We can all relate.

Re: Anxious & overwhelmed
Is it about the wedding?? I got a little overwhelmed last night looking at all the things i have left to do... but there is this wedding list timeline that goes month by month on this website, and as long as you dont look ahead and just take it month by month on the things you have to do it will make you feel ALOT better.
Personally im not going to go crazy with small details. Ive heard they just get completely overlooked by most guests anyway. And as a previous wedding guest myself, its difficult to notice those things unless you are looking for them!
HTH!!

Re: Anxious & overwhelmed
I was very emotional about so many things during the wedding planning process and DH and I would argue about so many things - for the most part, he thought I was getting too caught up in the details, and that was stressing me out and I felt like he was stressing me out because I'd be more stressed if I didn't worry about the details - because he certainly wasn't going to . Just try to keep in mind what's really important about your wedding day (not matter what happens, the 2 of you being married at the end of the day) and the small things will all work themselves out (and even if they don't, no one will notice). After our wedding, DH had to admit that all the thought and effort I put into everything really paid off and made for a great day. I think some arguments are inevitable, but you will get through it and be happily married when its all over. And like the others said - walk away from it all for a couple of days and do something completely unrelated to wedding planning.

Funny story from today:
FH calls me at work and says 'Honey, I had an epiphany! I figured out the BP entrance song!'
Me: 'Oh honey, I already have a song.'
FH:'So you didn't even consult me on this!'
ME:
I feel your pain honey. It will all work out in the end.

Thanks for this!!!
Thank you ladies! I think I just need a break from planning. I wanted to book all my vendors ASAP so I can be worry free. I see some 2013 brides already booking so that made me nervous too! LOL

Planning can be stressful. Just take a step back and relax. Everything will get accomplished one way or another.

Re: Anxious & overwhelmed
Don't get overwhelmed by 2013 brides booking vendors! There are so many talented and amazing vendors out there, you won't have a problem finding people you love. A lot of the vendors recommended on here get booked up way in advance, but trust me, there are TONS of great businesses out there so willing to help you.
I got engaged in September and I am getting married in June, and my cousin got engaged in October and she is getting married in August. Neither one of us has had any problems finding great people to work with.
It's not a race or a competition (I know you didn't say it was, but sometimes it feels that way if you spend a lot of time on the boards). Just do thinks your way and your pace. :)
And breathe! Or drink wine!

Re: Anxious & overwhelmed
All I can say is this is normal and it does get better... after the wedding.
ETA: I also want to say- delegate where you can. You don't need your hand in every single little wedding thing that you do. I thought I did and I regret that. Also, don't sweat the small stuff. Yeah it would be awesome to have every single little thing at your wedding from a channa plaque to personalized napkins to a photobooth but the reality is YOU CAN'T DO IT ALL. Do what's important to you and forget the rest. It's not important in the grand scheme of things and chances are you won't remember a few months down the line.
