April 30, 2006. Great thread girls. I am booking early too, who wants to be stressed out? Not me.
Welcome welcome! Let me ask the basics...Where you from, FH from, age, occupation??
I can't wait for our time! Planning is fun, but when it is actually here, I will be so relieved!
Oh boy! I am lost! See what happens when we are in work so early!
Nice Picture Vicky! You guys are a cute couple!

I loved the Watermill at first...Then when I went back, I was not so impressed...It might be bc we went to see the Floral Terrace & that was breathtaking...One wedding at a time, then we went for a food tasting & the food was amazing...Problem is, the minimums are so high there...175 for a Friday....
I believe we will be back at the Watermill...I have the church booked...
175 for a friday, oy that's a problem. but we can prob do it, if we just invite everyone we know...umm, are you free friday nov 3, 2006? come to my wedding, it'll be fun. i know, i'll just do what that couple did on e-bay, have an auction. seriously, thats high, but maybe we can work with them. if you don't mind, what price range are you looking at? b/c we would like $50-75 a head, which is know is low, but i know there are places on LI that we can get that at. (pardon the bad grammar)
The east Wind for a Saturday Afternoon is in that price range before tax and gratuity.
Girls I know it seems like forever but before you know it it will be here, I remeber when I was one of the first 2005 brides on the board I never thought my day was going to come, and now I am at 1 and 5 months and the time seems to be flying.

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
Good Morning, 2006ers!
I was originally a 2005 bride, hence the name, but had to be pushed back for several reasons. With that said, we have the hall, dj and videographer so far. We are researching photographers now, so hopefully we'll have that soon.
I look forward to chatting with you all!

I am 25 from West Babylon and FH is 32 from Holbrook. I'm a legal secretary, but in between jobs at the moment.
It's great to know that there are more of us out there! I thought I was the only one around.
How is your planning going?

Planning is going...We booked the church for March 31, 2006. We are still deciding on halls. FH & I are goin to go look at the North Ritz club on Sunday...We absolutely loved the Floral Terrace but the minimum was 175 for a Friday...We are going to use ADA for pictures...Other then that, we are researching & planning!
Before we know it, the day will be here!

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
That's great! There are alot of great things being said about North Ritz. Our church doesn't book this far in advance, so we have to wait til mid-January.
ADA is on our list of photographers to visit too. We had seen them at a showcase back in April and were impressed and the guy we met with was very nice as well.
You're right, it will be here before we know it. I can't believe we're in June already. This year is flying by!

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
ADA did my FSIL & FBIL wedding & the pictures came out amazing...The funny thing is my brother got married the day after then & used Silverfox ( I do not recommend them) & they still have nothing...ADA already came through with the albums, video & all portaits that they ordered....John is the photographer & he was just so wonderful, especially with kids....

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
That's good to know about ADA because we have 5 little ones in the wedding. 3 RBs and 2 FGs. John is the guy we spoke with briefly at the Showcase back in April and we seemed to hit it off, so we'll probably make an appointment soon.

Re: Any 2006 Brides?
Well we made an appointment for Sunday at NRC...I don't think we are going to end up there bc the mim for a Friday in March is 200...FH wants to look...I want to get the hall booked by July...
Photos we know we are using ADA...Flowers, I am most likely using Pedestals bc my cousin is an account executive there...
Can't think of a color scheme...Anyone have one that they are using??? I want orange & red flowers in my bok so that it is bold & makes a statement!
Marisa, have fun tonight...Let us know tomorrow what happens!

We looked at NRC too. The grounds were very nice but aside from their minimum being too high, they kept trying to push us to change our date because although they would've allowed us to be under the minimum (we would obviously be pro-rated) they didn't want to sacrifice that night when they felt they could book it for someone with more people. I didn't like that. Aside from that, everyone else who's ever said anything about them has loved them. I guess maybe it wasn't the right fit for us.
