i will be graduating with my BS in Accounting in June. i have told my FH atleast 100 times that i am non-CPA. well 99 times he said thats fine. yesterday my sisters friend was over helping me with auditing homework. he was saying how he is studying for the CPA exam & FH decided to start a whole argument about how he doesn't understand why i am non-CPA.
background info: i will be 25 when i graduate college. i will have been in college for 7 years. i am getting married a year after graduation. i don't have a 3.8 GPA like all the other CPA degree people do & i am the worlds worst test taker. i have explained to FH a million times that a non-CPA can get a job just as easily, you just don't file taxes. btw i hate doing taxes!!! most importantly i don't want that life style. i want to have children within a year of getting married & that wont be possible.
so anyone who also has a non-CPA degree can you help by giving me job suggestions??
TIA

Re: any accountants here?
There are plenty of opportunities for non-CPAs. BTW, even non-CPAs can prepare and file taxes. Pretty much anyone can take a basic course to prepare taxes. Non-CPAs cannot sign off on audit engagements tho. But it seems like you don't want to head in any of those directions.
You can seek work at a private company in their acctg dept or you can try to work at a public acctg firm who hires non-CPAs. Not everyone at public accts firms is a CPA, though a CPA license will often get you further up in the company.
