is it unrealistic to think we can buy a condo somewhere between nassau and suffolk with only 10% down??
all of our money is going to a wedding and we don't want to buy and then move a few months later...
any suggestions???
Thanks!!

Re: any advice for a homebuying newbie?
It might be tough just because of the market right now. With so many buyers for each property, sellers can be choosier in accepting offers and since the offers are usually close, the next thing they look at are the terms and downpayment. My advice is to call a Realtor in your area and ask them for their help.
Call a realtor or broker and mortgage broker. We bought a 500K house 3 years ago and only put 5% down. Alot depends on your credit rating to be able to get the loan...
Good luck!!!

Re: any advice for a homebuying newbie?
you can put less than 20% down. they have a program where you can put as little as 3% down. you can talk to washington mutual bank. i believe that they call it wamu 97 or something like that. with this program, you can put as little as 3 and as much as 9.99%. you just have to go to this seminar (kind of like defensive driving class to lower car insurance). FM me if you want more details.
