Sounds like you need to sit down with her and discuss this before it's too late, and everything is planned according to her taste!
I was in a wedding last summer where it was so obvious that the wedding was for the parents. At one point, the bride came over to me and said she did not know what to do!
Just be as honest as you can with her, and explain that you love her helping and all, but your tastes may differ, and that is OK. However, major decisions should be made according to you and FH's taste...

bottom line is you have to get what you and your FH want! Is your mom paying for you entire wedding?? My mom and dad gave us some $ towards the wedding so we 'gave in' to some of their requests, but the rest of it was decided by us!! Talk to her (calmly!)

I think though she is so excited and wants you to have the best of everything and is forgetting it's about what you like and want.
Go easy and let her know how you feel. She'll understand.

my mom has been doing this to me...i think she felt guilty cause she didnt help my sister out in planning... but i want to do things my way... I just shrug off her suggestions and buy the things I want then tell her what i did

thanks for the advice. Everytime I begin to speak to her about it, she gets defensive and reminds me that she and my father are paying for most of it.
But maybe I will take her out to lunch and just try to discuss it calmly.

Take her out to lunch KerrC - I had to do that with my mom right in the beginning to nip things in the butt so to speak.

Remember to be thankful for her help! I would do anything to have my mother back and help me plan this wedding!
