Any advice would be appreciated ladies

new name due to lurkers. i feel so sad and i dont know what to do. i feel like i have no one to talk to bc they would be judgemental and hold a grudge with me or fh in the future so i am posting here.

would you be upset if a bridesmaid couldnt attend your shower? reason being bc she is in another bridal party and has to attend that girls bach party out of state- which i completely understand she needs to be there for her other friend as well BUT she knew of my shower date for a year. couldnt she of told them that day was no good for her? also, what really baffles me is a few months ago she told me how perfect all the dates worked out between the 2 weddings/events bc they were doing the other girls bach party a week before mine. now something must of changed bc they are doing the other bach party on the date of my shower? when i thought the other date was the only day that worked for them? whatever happened idk, i just feel like the right thing to do was to say hey, i cant do it this date bc i had something planned for the past year.

so i only know this bc fh has a big mouth and told me. im not supposed to know anything but wouldnt say anything to her anyway- it is what it is - im just upset. dont i have a right to be upset/disappointed??? well fh basically flips on me last night bc i was upset, calling me a baby etc. and saying that other people cant revolve everything around me other people get married too. yeah i get it, im just upset and disappointed so let me be, ill get over it. but now im even more upset bc shouldnt your fh be the one person you can talk to when your upset and make u feel better? instead i get yelled at and told to get out of his face. so now i feel as though i cant ever talk to him when im upset bc this is what i get. ughhhh sooo frustrated i dont even want to talk to him now im dreading it.

thanks if you read this long bs sorry

I'd be a little upset, but it's not like she's missing your wedding for a b-party. I had a BM that couldn't make it to my shower because she lives in California. I knew since day one that she wouldn't be able to be at a lot of events. As long as she's at the wedding, that's all that matters to me.

I'm sorry you're upset

it just seems that there was no easy way with this situation...she had to make a decision on which event to attend. Yeah, it *****, but you just can't expect people to always do what you want

I had two BMs that were an hour late to mine because they had to drop their kids off to the ex-husbands (court ordered saturday visits). It bugged me for like a minute (couldn't they arrange for an earlier drop off this ONE time?) but then I got to my party and was having so much fun that until the arrived I hadn't noticed they weren't there. Not in a mean way - of course I wanted them there - it's just that there's so much going on you hardly notice. I understand why you're upset but trust me, you won't even notice it that day.

I'd be more upset at FH then the BM honestly. It **** that she can't come and you certainly have a right to be disappointed. But, I agree with you about your FH. Your FH is the person your supposed to lean on when you feel bad. He should have been more supportive and sympathetic to your feelings IMO.

i think the problem is that you sort of agree with your FH ... you said yourself that you're upset but you'll get over it and wouldn't say anything to the BM ... but your FH is saying it to you in a way that makes you feel bad. That part really su cks ...

i don't think you should feel like you can't speak to him about things anymore though ... he's been there for you your entire relationship - maybe he was just having an off day yesterday

talk to him about your feelings and let him know it's not ok.

I would definitely be upset if she knew about your shower all along... espcially if she told you that all the dates worked out... i would want to know why she chose the bparty over your shower...

i dont think this is a case of the world revolving around you... imo youre justified in feeling this way
