any brides cancel their RH

any brides cancel their RH

Its official, we are canceling our RH. Although we both love it, it is really far and inconvenient for us and our guests, and I do not love the room we have.

I am aware of the Suffolk Law. I was just wondering if anybody had experience canceling with suffolk RH. If I should call first or just write the letter. I don't know why, but I'm nervous!

I do not know about canceling there but did you check around at other places first. I know that alot of places are booked for September 2011 already so if you are dead set on a date then you may need to look right away.

What is the reason you are canceling? I missed most of your posts sorry.. Hope you find something you love!!

I've never cancelled CLM, but I cancelled Sandcastle. I wrote them a letter and send it certified mail/return receipt, they never responded back & we eneded up loosing our $500 deposit.

Make sure you find another place that has your wedding date, unless your flexable w/ dates!!! GOod luck!!

Well there is no way I am losing my entire deposit. They already have a few thousand from us. And there is also no way they are going to BS me and tell me that they cannot rebook my date.

I don't know about canceling procedures but if they absolutely refuse, can you change the event to a different day and make it your bridal shower or rehearsal dinner?

no, it is really far from us. and i couldnt imagine spending that kind of money on a dinner. we are making ends meet as it is. thanks for the suggestion

Another thing you can do if they can't (or won't) cancel, is try to sell the date to someone who loves the place but probably couldn't get a great date around that time. I've seen it done before and it's worked out very well for both brides. If you post on here for some of the brides still searching for an RH, you might get lucky.

I would call and you probably wont be able to get your deposit back unless they book that date with someone else. I would be very polite and say that you want to cancel because of 'unforseen circumstances' and ask about the process. I know that we asked our place what would happen and they said that they would keep the deposit until someone else booked that date and if they did not book, they would keep it. Good Luck.

they said once that they charge 500 just to change the date... sicko's.

Re: any brides cancel CLM?

Who are you dealing with at CLM? Try and speak to Nick. He's more understanding and much easier to deal with than the other guy (whose name escapes me at the moment) I'm sure they would be willing to work with you on something.

Tino... thats who I deal with. I know hes gonna give me a hard time. I mean, if I have to get all Esq. on him I will, just dont want to.

That's his name, Tino. Please see if you can speak with Nick. Tino will most definitely give you a hard time. And he can be really rude and off putting sometimes. I really hope this works out for you. You don't need the stress for such a joyous event.

According to the Suffolk County laws, you're are entitled to at least partial of your deposit granted that you cancel a year before the date of the wedding.

Now that you mention that., I think the deadline could be up to 6 months to get the partial deposit back and not a year...Good for you!

i believe that legally as long as its 6 months in advance they are required to give you everything but $100 back
