I'm planning on having a brooch bouquet made and carrying that instead of flowers. I saw it once on an episode of 'My fair Wedding' and I was hooked. I've already started collecting brooches (found most on Etsy) and I need about 60-70 to have a nice size bouquet. Anyone doing one of these instead of flowers?

Awesome! Are you actually putting it together yourself? I was going to collect the brooches and send it off to broochbouquets.com for them to assemble it. Do you have a theme for yours or is it just a mix of what you love?

I thought about that but honestly, for my first wedding, my bouquet was pretty heavy and it was only hydrangeas and calla lilies. I'm sure this will be heavier but I thought it would be worth it!

I am doing it myself. I am trying to stick to mostly blues and silvers but I have a few other brooches in that aren't those colors but they blend well. I have also used items besides brooches. Bought a few bracelets on sale at Michaels and took them apart and earrings also. As long as I can add a stem I am using whatever hits me. I really am enjoying doing it myself. But I won't lie it is a lot of work!!

I'm thinking about it. I think I'll go with a hybrid of flowers and brooches. It's nice that it will stay forever but flowers are so classic and classy...I can't decide!
