Any brides doing P90X????

What do you think of it? I want to hear your comments. I'm thinking about doing it.

Re: Any brides doing P90X????

my best friend did it before her wedding and she literally dropped like 30 lbs.

just be cautious beause she started to get really 'buff' like building muscle instead of toning and really really tiny neck and waist - started to look a little weird after a while. veins popping out of her hands, etc. made her look old really fast.

so my advice would just be, make sure you look at yourself in the mirror and make sure you still look 'normal' lol

no, it's an exercise regimen with dvds and they give you a diet program to follow which includes a lot of protein shakes, etc.

my fh is. He has lost about 40lbs, and this is from someone who hates to work out. He puts like 75% effort in, so if he would put in 100%, he would see much better results. Either way, it def. works.

no it's a 90 day nutrition and exercise program. I know I thought the same thing when I first heard about it.

The wikipedia page i posted above has a full description of the program

most workouts are about an hour (though some are 1.5 hours) - 6 days a week for 13 weeks.

FH and I have tried it and we quickly became too lazy to continue with it but we are going to try and do it again starting in the spring!

OMG that's so wierd I was just coming on here to ask the same thing!!!!

I just found mine in the house last night. I figure I can get 3 cycles in before my wedding so I want to start but I'm not good at keeping on the diet they recommend....

I find it really hard, especially the pull ups and push ups I like the ab work out and legs though.

There is no gimmick to it, it's hardcore working out. If you stick with it, you will see results. FH and I have only done it a handful of times though.

That's what I'm afraid of. I'm afraid I will spend the money and then I won't stick to the diet. I have no problems with exercising. I'm wondering if I should try this and then if that doesn't work, hire a trainer or if I should just go for the trainer. I used to be great on my own but now I need more motivation. Especially to stick to a diet. I feel like I might need someone to keep tabs on me.

Re: Any brides doing P90X????

i'm doing it. I'm on my last 2 weeks. I've pretty much followed the 6 day work out religiously but not the nutrition guide (no way i'm doing that!)

anyways, I lost weight in the beginning and I've gain it back but FH says it's b/c I've gained muscle. Overall, my clothes are loser on me and my body is leaner. But I do think if i followed the nutrition guide, i would've gotten a completely different result.

btw, i was doing the P90 Lean workout b/c i the P90x workout was making me more muscular than what i wanted. I started the x workout last summer and stopped and i started the lean this winter

Do you find it difficult to stick with the program?? That's what I'm afraid of.

What's the difference between the three workouts?? I put on muscle very easily so I don't want to get bulky.

i put on muscle easily as well and FH thinks i'm crazy

that's why i switched it up to the Lean workout b/c it's more cardio based vs. x where it's more muscle building. I would def recommend the Lean version for women over the X.
