I wish. That was my orginal plan until my mom vetoed it hard. It seems like it would be SO much less stressful!

Tell me about it! My friend had one last year and is STILL mad at me that i didn't go. And even more mad that i still went away on a vacation w/FH. Guess since i couldn't spend the $$ to go to her wedding for a weekend; i'm not supposed to go anywhere else the entire year...

yeah> well FH's cousin had hers in Jamaica and apparently was so sure she'd have everyone come that she guaranteed rooms that would have given her room free. guess what? didn't happen and she blames everyone that didn't go. when i found out, I told FH, f*ck that, I'm not sending her a gift. she's a selfish biatch.

I WISH! That is what FH and I would love to have but we knew we couldn't pull it off and have all our family and friends there.

Maybe we'll do a vow renewal down the line in Jamaica

2010er crashing ... i think there are definitely things about a destination wedding that are more stressful, and parts that are less.

though having a small guestlist (and therefore staying in your budget) would be easier, it'd be extremely hard to choose all your vendors from OOT.

my friend got married in Vegas last year and it was great ... but she was extremely worried about choosing everything. it did turn out great though

my brother is planning on getting married in jamaica at beaches... i think they do everything for you... its just getting ppl there

they are not allowed to bring any vendors and have an all in one package.... so basically they have no planning but dresses and flights!

I'm having a destination wedding.

No I'm not expecting everyone and their third cousin to come.

No I am not expecting gifts of any kind.

FH and I knew from the beginning what kind of wedding WE wanted to have. If you can be there with us, wonderful. If you can't, we totally understand.

I've even told some people to NOT give us a monetary gift of any kind for the wedding because we know what we are asking.

As for planning, we've really haven't had much trouble at all. It's all in who you hire.
