We are paying for it with the exception of my dress (my mom purchased that for me). It is a little stressful esp. since FH got laid off,

We contributed about $18k and my parents paid the rest, which was the bulk of it. Even with having to pay for some of the stuff, it was stressful but it can absolutely be done. Just set a budget and STICK TO IT!

We are paying for our weding ourselves.

I had to stop watching Platinum Brides b/c it was making me like all at once. . Horrible.

At first we thought we would have help, and then we realized that was a pipe dream, but I want to get married and so I'm gonna and even though right now our finances are not the most ideal -- FH got laid off recently and is back in school -- but we are trying to stay positive!

Also we've moved our wedding out of NYC -- and that is what is totally saving us right now!

FH and I are paying for the wedding...my parents are paying for my attire for the day and hair and makeup...I know FH said his parents are going to give towards the hall and my parents said it to but I dont know i still stress that we will not have enough.

ugh yes....my parents are helping out too but we are still paying for a lot, we booked all our vendors except photo because its one of the biggest down payments, and were putting it off, but one of the photographers i wanted is already booked! and im afraid the other one i want will be too by the time we have the money!! grrr :(!

My parents are going to give us a set amount of $$ and we have to cover the rest. We are saving for a little before planning so we are less stressed!

We are paying for our own wedding... It is hard and frustrating and we will have no savings account when all is said and done, but I know that my parents will have a huge gift for us and I told FH to ask his parents if they will pay for our honeymoon (cuz we wanna go LARGE!!!).

We are trying not to pay for it, but we may have to pay for the odds and ends...which are totaling up to $1000s

Yup and took out a line of credit to do so. Hopefully with the money we make on the wedding we could pay the loan off.

We paid for the majority of our wedding on our own. It was really hard but we were disciplined in RE to saving. We also had a 2.5 yr engagement in order to have enough $ for the wedding we wanted. I really wanted my dream wedding and was not willing to cut back on certain things. So, it was worth the wait in order to have what I wanted.

we are ... whatever we get from our parents will most likely be in the form of a gift the day of unless we really really need it... its really stressful but thats why we chose to have a 2 1/2 ur engagement so we can save save save!
