Any brides out there paying for there own wedding with there FH? Do you find it really hard and frustrating ?

We are paying for our wedding ourselves........hence why we are getting married in February during the daytime LOL :) but we have been really good with dealing with payment plans,booking vendors way in advance and keeping our bridal party and guestlist small

our parents are helping but most of the cost is being shouldered by me & FI. it's really hard at times that i want to delay the wedding....

but then when will we ever have the 'funds' to do it? so we're sticking to our goal of getting married this year.

My mom chipped in a little bit and his parents paid for the limo everything else was on us and it was very frustrating. I cried many nights over the whole money issue but some how you just manage to pay for it. I had to cut some things out and down scale a few things, but no one really notice except for me and my wedding was amazing if I don't say so my self. LOL

We paid for the majority of our wedding. It was hard but the benefit of paying for it yourself is you do not have to justify your decisions to any one.

We are paying for everything including the RD. The HM is a wedding gift from FMIL, but everything else we are doing. We both decided from the begining of our engagement that we werent going to dip into our already savings and that we were just going to start fresh by putting aside a certain amount of money each month. By the time we get married we will be engaged for 2 years and it has worked out great!

yup. We are getting some help from my mom and my Aunt but that's it.

It's hard trying to save for a wedding, go to school, and look for a place to live w/o much help.

Yes we're paying for our own. My mom is helping me out by paying for my wedding gown, veil, headpiece, and the flowers.

FH and I are paying for the wedding ourselves. We are trying to save as much money as we can; however, it's very tough.

I cant say we are paying for it - FH is paying for it. My mother is offering to pay for dress and photo booth that we are wanting to get. Most likely FIL will use their vacation points for HM, But mostly everything FH is taking care of- Im not working right now.

we're paying ourselves. my parents offered us money but we chose to take it after the wedding for a down payment on a house. i actually prefer it this way because me and FH have final say on everything and if we want to splurge on something we don't have to feel like we're putting it on someone else.

Oh yea. Mom offered to pay for the dress and take care of decorations, so that helps a lot. It's one of the reasons we set an almost 2 year engagement. Do any of you ever want to say screw it and have a reallly small ceremony??? It's just so frustrating

We are! We both work freelance though, (I also work for a doctor, but only part-time). The biggest downfall is never knowing how much money we will make each month! We actually pushed back the wedding by a year already, but we aren't doing it again! ...If it comes down to it, we'll just run off to Hawaii and elope. LOL

We are paying for the entire thing..though my mom is paying for my dress (which I didn't know) so that was a big help

Yes it can get frustrating but like another poster said, payment plans help

we've been saving for almost 2 years now putting in 100 each a month. We did take some money out for our furniture tho. Saving definitely helped but its not gonna pay for everything. We are paying for the RH and the parents are going to take care of the 'extras'

We are. No one has given us a dime. FH is working a second job right now to help cover the cost. There is still a chance before the wedding my family might give us some money but I don't want to count my chickens before their hatched.

Paying for a wedding on your own is very stressful but if you budget it and plan it to your needs it can work. Just takes time and LOTS of saving.

My parents gave FH and me the deposit money for our RH and are going to give us some money at the end for the final payment.

Eveything else we plan to pay for ourselves. Even though my parents offered us more money, I really don't want to take it from them since they had already helped with the downpayment for our home.

It's a comfort knowing my parents can help if we are absolutely in a bind by the time the date rolls around but I don't want to resort to that.

I'm fortunate that I have access to overtime at my job so that I don't have to look for a second job but the extra hours really takes a toll.

Sigh.

We paid for everything ourselves except for my dress and the flowers (my mom paid for these). In addition, we closed on our house 5 weeks before the wedding. Yes, it was stressful but it can be done.
