I think, I have just made the biggest mistake to register for a class in school. I can not withdraw because I will loose $200.00.
With my wedding coming up in 6 months. I can not concentrate on school work. All I want to look at is bridal books. But, now I have to look at both school work & bridal books.
Are they any techniques to swing this without failing this class. ? I am also working a 9 to 5 -- Monday thru Friday.
Thanks a million!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!!!!

Re: any Brides to be in College?
Hey there.... it gets better.... I am enrolled full time at St. John's & I work full time (well I did before the wedding).
I was so close to graduating that I could not tke any more time off of school. Luckily, other than LIW I wasn't too distracted from school!

I'm pursuing my Masters right now. I actually find it to be a good distraction, or I would be totally obsessed with wedding planning and stay on LIWeddings.com all evening!

Re: any Brides to be in College?
I go to graduate school full time, for a double master's, work part time, planned a wedding, plus a baby shower!! You can do it..just plan your time wisely!!! Actually in all honesty, I was VERY stressed ...now that Im married and back from my honeymoon, Im not in it at all, I find it much harder to concentrate now that Im married, Im all in lala land, dont want to study..I sit in class wishing I was home..I was never like this..each person handles it diffferntly..but you will be fine..find what works best for you!!! Good luck!!!

Ooooo
Thanks ladies...I thought, I was getting over my head. Maybe how the semester just started it feels like a heavy load on my shoulders..........But, If I try to study hard at least several times a week, I will make it.
I guess, prioritize is the issue with this here.
I would like to go into work tomorrow at 7am..and leave at 3 30pm. The early the better. I sometimes wake up late going into work very late. Which, is definitely a bad habit.

P.S.---I forgot to add, I find it helpful if you make a schedule for yourself. I plan to dedicate myself to school work certain times/nights. You just have to be disciplined and stick to it! It pays off.

Thanks...
I will start an effective time schedule at work in the morning.
I can imagine this situation if I was married already...I would be in day dream land thinking of being a Mrs................

making a scheduale helps...
im in school full time and i love the wedding planning, but i remind myself that theres plenty of time for planning after studding, i also think how it would suck to have to retake the course, so that ishould do it right the first time..

Re: any Brides to be in College?
Aliciahelene,
I am taking Business/Economics. I too should be studying my school books. The first test is on Monday already. THe professor wants to have an idea..of what the students know. It is only one class though, but I need to make that study schedule. Come Sept. I will go back to taking 2 classes each semester.
I notice, that in the beginning of every semester, I am dead tired. On monday, a coworker told me my eyes were blood shot red. I was so embarrassed!!!!!

Re: any Brides to be in College?
Hey date mate!
I am also having a hard time focusing on school this quarter. I am finishing up my MBA and will be graduating in June (That's right a month before my wedding).
I am only taking one class this quarter, but two next qtr. I am just not motivated to do my reading at all. It's tough but luckily FH is in law school, so I have someone else to help me stay on track.
With both of us working full time and going to school part time, it's tough but you have to think of the bigger picture. The planning, bridal magazines and other stuff is just for the wedding day. School will help guide the course for the rest of you lives.

I'm in a similar situation as you. I will be finishing my Masters a week before our wedding. I'm taking 3 courses this semester and I just try to stay focused. I usually set a goal to do a certain amount of work and then reward myself with something like going on LI Weddings.

Re: any Brides to be in College?
I am a full time student and A full time worker. It is ery difficult to find time together and time for myself. My fiancee is doing his master too and working full time. We have a schedule of the times we are ableto hang out and do our wedding planning because otherwise we wouldnt be able to do it.

Re: any Brides to be in College?
Dont worry, I was taking my final grad classes (pracitcum and research) as well as teaching everyday while planning my wedding. I think I was so busy that it made the wedding get here faster! LOL You can do it!
