My membership at the Powerhouse gym in Baldwin has just expired. I am in need of somewhere to go but I can't spend a whole lot of money. I was contemplating about using the rec center at Hofstra, since I am a student there but I don't want to be around all those football players.
when I lived in Seaford I went to Dolphin Fitness in Farmingdale...it was like $250 for the year...and 24 hours a day...
it was years ago though...so I don't know if it is still there...or what kind of deal they offer

Lucille Roberts had a great plan when I joined last Oct. Their promotions change so it depends upon when you join. I paid $300 for two years. I use the Westbury location.

Re: Any cheap memberships out there?
I joined The New York Sports Clulb today in East Meadow and they have a great special going on (until the end of Sept.). It's their 29th anniversary and the initiation fee is only $29!! with a monthly membership of $60 (i got a disc. b/c I am a teacher, but they also give corporate discounts too). I used to belong to Lucille Roberts, but I didn't like it there, so I switched.
