Re: Any couples doing a roadtrip...

we are - we are - we are!!!

We've done road trips since i met dave! I'm GREAT at planning them - so FM me if you want!

We're flying to Seattle (i'm a Mariners fan) & we're going to attend 2 Mariner games.

Then we're renting a car and driving down the California coast - hitting ALL the baseball teams on our way down. The only one i couldn't get in there was the Dodgers....but we'll be hitting all the others.

Before I met Dave, we both had the dream of hitting all the MLB ballparks...and since we've been together, we've done 13 so far! This trip will bring us VERY close to 20!!!!!

I actually already have it all planned in a Word Doc - complete with hotels..if you're interested!

How about flying out west (getting a cheap flight) then renting a car. You can check for deals that you pay a flat rate and not per mile. Also, you can find cheaper places to stay over night in the west then in the east!

Good idea! Do you know of any places to stay?

Not off hand but I can ask my friend....I do think they camped b/c they are very outdoorsy people!

That would be so helpful! Thanks!

We stay at Best Westerns. We used to do Choice Hotels, but after having a few bad experiences...we changed to BW. We've had nothing but great experiences with them & they're all pretty much the same! I'll pull the hotels from my sheet - back in 5!

FH and I drove cross-country for two and a half weeks last summer. We went through 22 states inclusive of NY and visited lots of national parks. It was a great trip and fairly inexpensive.

ETA: gas was getting expensive then but was obviously cheaper than it is now.

I second the flying out west and renting a car. We did this the trip we got engaged. Flew out to Reno, drove to lake tahoe, then to Yosemite (where we got engaged), then to Napa, San Fran, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Santa Barbara then to San Diego, where we flew out. It was an AMAZING trip and awesome drive down the coast of Cali.

Sounds AMAZING! How long were you gone for?

We were gone for 2 weeks - we did about usually 2 days and sometimes 3 days in each place w/the exception of monterey where we just passed through on our descent down Big Sir (the famous stretch of highway along the coast) where we just had lunch and went to the aquarium. It really was an amazing trip and something different enough that you will remember it forever. FM if you're interested I can send you a link to pictures and give you any other info you may want.

Can you tell me more about it? How long did you stay in each state? 22 states in 2 weeks seems like a lot...

I've heard Savanah (sp) is awesome!!!! :)

FH and I just got back from Savannah a week ago. It was absolutely beautiful. We plan on going back soon to actually spend some time sightseeing and enjoying ourselves (we were there for a family thing so it wasn't the best circumstances). The little bit of sightseeing we did get to do was amazing.... I really didn't want to leave.

I definitely want to go there at some point. What did you see while you were there?
