Re: Any Crescent Beach Club brides?
I went to a wedding there last June, the atmosphere is so pretty being right on the beach. She had a band that I did not like at all but the food was good, no complaints. She also had her ceremony there which was beautiful.

Re: Any Crescent Beach Club brides?
a friend was married there 2 weeks ago.they had her ceremony outside. she wanted it ON the beach, instead they had it set up on a deck where everyone was sweating to death. the deck brought somuch heat, and it wasnt one of these super hot days either.
The reception room was not decorated all that nice, looked too much like a gymnasium. although this was daytime.
its also a restaurant so you heard waiters serving & picking up plates etc

Re: Any Crescent Beach Club brides?
we looked at crescent on saturday and fell in love with it! its a bit more expensive than north ritz club (our other favorite) but i just love the atmosphere! very different than every place we have seen. we're looking for next october and hoping that the weather is nice enough to have our daytime cocktail hour outside. we saw it set up for a wedding last saturday and we thought the room looked wonderful. big, great view, and she had beautiful ( and huge!!) centerpieces from spitz & peck. the cocktail hour food was being set up and looked and smelled great. so we're just waiting for our date from the church and then we'll have to make a final decision. its so difficult to choose between two great places... any feedback would be appreciated!

Re: Any Crescent Beach Club brides?
I loved it at the crescent. I would just say to be careful of the bugs getting all over the food during the cocktail hour. We couldn't go near the cheese table with all the flies!!!Don't know how they can control that though

Re: Any Crescent Beach Club brides?
spel, i am probably biased now, but i love the Crescent! I like that it is a little different - it doesnt feel like a wedding factory. I like the degree of formailty b/c it is definetly classy and elegant, but the beachside setting makes it feel more relaxed and casual to me- festive and not stuffy. I wanted a place that was traditional, but where i could still have a hip party. Any specific questions I can help with? I dont know the other place that you are looking at, so i am no help there. Let me know which one you end up with!

Re: Any Crescent Beach Club brides?
We originally booked the crescent, we thought it was so awesome. But after thinking about it we decided not to go there. We thought that since we were having an April wedding the weather may not be in our favor and to spend alot of money for the beautiful views and have it rain would totally stink. Another thing I didn't like was the restuarant shares the bathrooms with the reception hall, which may not be a big deal to some but I wasn't thrilled, especially since we were paying a bathroom attendant.I've heard from many people who have attended weddings there and have heard only great things.
But I've learned to think things through before putting down a deposit. Best of Luck to you.

Re: Any Crescent Beach Club brides?
I am not sure about decorating yet, but I have heard that since the ceilings are on the low side, tall centerpieces are not the best idea. just wondering...what do you think of the palm trees in the room? Cant decide if they look good or not! I would love to hear any thoughts on decorating too!

Re: Any Crescent Beach Club brides?
I spoke with the Crescent a few weeks ago b/c I wanted to see their policies on candles. I've been researching bulk candle distributors and I wanted to inundate the ballroom with pillars, votives and sporadic tapers. She recommended sticking with an ivory or cream color which goes best with the room. White would be too stark. And - they do not have any policies like most places do - i.e., using hurricane vases to encase your candles.
I need to keep the decorating costs down and forgo huge floral centerpieces since I've decided to make my gown and photography priorities. Using 10 various sized pillar candles per table could still run under $40 per table which is still more reasonable than $200-$300 floral centerpieces.
I also plan on buying roughly 8 -10 tiki torches for the beach and dropping them off a few days before. I want these to be lit from the cocktail party so forth.
The live palm trees are ok but there aren't that many of them - only a few to hide the kitchen door. I still need to find out how much more it would be to rent a few more or other potted foliage.
One thing I wanted to try to decorate was the entrance to the ballroom. It has this ugly EXIT sign in red (which I know is a regulation) and the doors are basic. I was thinking of having the florist arrange tulle or some type of an arch to give the entrance a sense of depth and flair. Of course, this is contingent on how much it will cost.
Which vendors are you using?

Re: Any Crescent Beach Club brides?
Sounds like you really know what you want and whioch areas need sprucing up! Good for you!I was thinking of either colored paper lanterns or tiki torches for the beach also. For centerpieces, i am considering a small chunky square glass vase with fresh cut bright flowers in sunset -ish colors and also, scattering different sizes of white candles at each table. What do you think of that?
I am a big fan of candle light -the right lighting can do wonders for an atmosphere! and it is nice and budget-friendly!

Re: Any Crescent Beach Club brides?
your centerpiece and decorations ideas sound great!I was in Boston for a wedding a few weeks back and the hotel we were staying at had these BEAUTIFUL arrangements everywhere - low, glass square vases with the inside of the vase wrapped in different leaves and all sorts of gorgeous flowers sprouting from the top. Very chic and modern - so if the price isn't ridiculous, I might check it out. Even to decorate the sign in table or something to that effect.
