Re: any december weddings out there?

I'm getting married at the end of December!!! People always ask me why did I pick that month...I just LOVE the Winter and the cold! As a matter of fact, that's why we picked Switzerland, Austria and France (possibly cancelling the Paris part, and extending our honeymoon in Switzerland)...because of the snow and the winter wonderland effect!

So far we've got the following:
Reception hall
photographer
videographer
DJ
my dress ordered
BM's/flowergirl dresses picked out (need to order this month)
favors (not put together yet)
limo
save the date postcards

How is everyone else doing?

Jshap, I feel much better after reading your post! It looks like we're pretty much on par with each other. The only 'BIG' thing I have left to do is find an officiant for the wedding. FH and I are getting married at our reception hall.

We also did flowers - I left that off.

Did you book your honey moon yet?

Where are you thinking of going? We are going to look into Hawaii and possibly Aruba.

We are looking at going to the Poconos for a few days after the wedding and taking a 'warm' honeymoon in the Spring.

Re: any december weddings out there?

I'm getting married in November - really wanted December but my mom freaked out and Flowerfield wanted more money for December so that pretty much made my decision.

I'm using Patken for photography and I just did my engagement pics. I couldn't be happier. Vinnie was so great to work with and he got FH to smile! That takes talent

That's interesting you say Flowerfield wanted more money for a December wedding? We are only paying $110 a head...which I thought was the cheapest you could pay there, since December is considered an 'off' season.

Lorimari, I'm so excited to hear that your pictures with Vinny from Patken went well! I was up in NY last weekend (I live in D.C.) and finally booked my photographer... Vinny from Patken

Re: any december weddings out there?

Kathi - what an amazing price!!!!! I did not get that but I also booked the hall in April of 2002. Had I waited a few months I would have probably gotten a cheaper price but who knows. I remember I was going to do March of this year for $110 a head but it was either wedding or house and I chose house. I'm still happy with my choice and as long as 25-30 people say they aren't coming I'll be fine Haa, haa!

Flyin'bride - I'm so glad you booked Vinnie!!!! He is awesome. If I ever figure out how to work my scanner I'll send you the e-pics!:
