Yes, you do not have to get your fittings there but you will be paying for the customizing of the dress and that you wan't know pricing until you pick what you want of each dress

im having just the neckline changed and it was an extra $250

I'll show you guys what I'm thinking of... keep in mind, I've never tried it on but have tried on other gowns and know what looks best on me... and this one is very similar....
So Ithe top but really dont think the bottom fits my style (but hey u never know until u try it on right?!?) I'd want the bottom to be sleeker looking...

This may be a stupid question, but is it any guarantee that macys carries most of the gowns that are on the site? i wouldnt wanna go down to manhattan to find out they dont even have it to try on.... its from spring 07

I think this'll be trickier to change than a ballgown or a-line, but i'm sure they're able to do it..you just have to figure out how much you're willing to spend because it might cost you a good piece of change..
id call them first before you go - i called and asked if they had my dress - i just gave them the style # from the website and they were able to look it up

I got a Demetrios dress!!! I ended up not changing anything, but when I was trying it on, I toyed with the idea of changing some things. For example, the back of my dress has a lot of detail, and they said I could extend the detail down to the bottom of my train, and it'd cost $250. I ended up deciding not to do it, just because I felt I liked it enough the way it was. But it sounds like when you want to change some things like a neckline, or extend something, it costs about $250. Not sure what it'd cost when changing the top and bottom of a dress, but it should definitely be do-able. Good luck!!!

I had about 15 demetrios dresses that I wanted to try on about a year ago, the best bet is to call a macy's salon and ask if they have certain style numbers....when I did that, they had most of them but not all of them...
I am not a Demetrios Bride but when I was dress shopping, Macy's in Manhasset said that they could put the top of any gown with the bottom of any gown as well as customize the gown in any you want - remove beading, change the neckline, change the dress style, etc. I have no idea how much this would cost but it must be based on how much extra work they have to do.

wanting to know if anyone actually DID change a top and bottom...
But also wanted to say... i asked netbride for a quote on that gown and they responded back... 630!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am floored... why so cheap?
