grrrr.... I just called to try to set up pre-cana for FH and I and I was told you can ONLY do pre-cana within the diocese. FH and I live in Queens and while it's not too far away we were hoping to do it at our church
To top it off... the dates they have listed for pre-cana either don't work for us or are happening AFTER we get married.
so annoyed.
just left a message with someone at the diocese so hopefully i get a callback today.
Did anyone else have this problem?

didnt have this problem...
but,
I remember the priest saying if you cant do precanc at ur parish then they have weekends through diocese of rvc were u get precana done in one weekend.

I'm confused you called the Diocese in Queens to do this and they wouldn't let you?! or in RVC?
That's odd because I booked through the pre-cana website and there was no issue. We live in the Bronx, we are parishioners at a church in Manhattan and our pre-cana is in Douglaston, Queens..

FH and I live in ATL and obviously could not do it back on LI... so we were not able to do pre-cana done here..even though that's the diocese we will be getting married in..

they usually make you take precana within your diocese since each diocese has different ways of doing things

St. Christopher's in Baldwin offers it (I'm in the process of doing it now) - and it's part of the Diocese of RVC.
Call their rectory, ask for Jaime and she can sign you up. It's $175 (i think) 4 Thursday nights from 8-10pm. It's in her home w/ her husband, they are both super chill, laid back and it's actually kind of fun.
