Any East Wind Brides...

Any East Wind Brides...

It's hard to find any east wind brides here.
Can any brides tell me about your experience's there or have any pics

I have 113 days to go
And was wondering what some of your experiences were like there.
Where was the vienesse table placed, did you get place cards or do the personal seating. Were there any problems with the personal seating...like a long line forming. Do they provide the table menus. Did you have your ceremony there...

A thousand last minute details always popping in my head.
Hello can we say Bridezilla!

I went to a wedding there. I was in the wedding actually. I have no experience w/ the cocktail hour since we weren't allowed to go to it by the bride. However, my DH said it was really good. They did provide us w/ our own mini cocktail hour in the bridal suite and it was very good. As for the food- it was so-so IMO. However, I think my friend got the so-so package. She had prime rib, some chicken thing and salmon. We both had the ribs, but that is b/c we always order the beef when we go out (less probability they'll screw it up). What ever you do- do NOT get the butternut bisque soup- it was GROSS! My friend did not have the vienesse nor did she have menus.

NO to the soup. I was there for a friends wedding and the butternut squash was horrible.

I am having my wedding there. What about the salad combo? instead of the soup. Its easier and they can't screw it up.

What other soups are there.

We're having our wedding there too. 4/18/04 in the country gardens (I assume that's where you're having it?).
We haven't chosen our entire menu yet. It's pretty funny that you said the butternut bisque tasted gross b/c Elizabeth (EW wedding planner) said that it was her favorite. Hmmm...kinda weird. But we weren't gonna go with that anyway.
We're also having the delux Vie and I think she said that it's on that small wall (extended with another table) next to the bar.
I also didn't see too many girls here getting married at East Wind. But I think it kinda makes it a little more special for us! I think a lot of people here don't want to travel that far east for it.

Cheers!!

I am an East Wind bride. I'm getting married in the Inn at East Wind. April 4, 2004. I love it there. I have been to several wedding there and all were wonderful.

We were just at the Inn today. We booked our rehersal dinner at Desmond's there. It looked nice and the banquet rooms look huge and beautiful with the high ceilings.

We got to check out the suites and the rooms. The bathrooms in the suites are amazing!! The tub alone is incredible. The decor of the rooms are not my personal taste but definitely done with class!

I was excited when we popped into the Estate building. They were painting again! Not that it even needed it. I love Ken and his attention to detail!

Just thought that I would give you all an update on what I saw today!

We are having our reception in The Inn, on the north side , on Sept 18 2004. I have never been there for a wedding myself, but I know people who have and they had nothing but great things to say about the food and service. We booked the wedding before the Inn was completed, but went back around Christmas when it was almost done and it looks more beautiful then I had imagined. I'm really excited about it!!

Having my reception there (EW Grand Ballroom, North side) August 22! I love the place the food, everything..one thing I keep thinking I hate the way everything is seperated by these ugly gym door lookin' dividers...yuckie. What do you guys think? Also...the 'cocktail room'...will they open it up to extend the reception room again? I'm not getting this. lol Also I hope the gym door walls are sound proof...I'll freak If I hear 'Baby got Back' while I'm cutting my cake or something...

Re: Any East Wind Brides...

btw...swags...desmonds for rehearsal dinner? Pretty good idea! I hope they cut you a little break since you are having your reception there...
Would it be nosy If I asked around how much it was and what they are serving?

Re: Any East Wind Brides...

Nope no break but they are right on par with everyone else that we are looking at-- actually a little more food for the money then the other places we looked. The only thing was we did not have to leave a deposit which seemed a little strange to me but they said since we were booked in East Wind etc. Here is the info:

All is served family style:

Appetizers- Chicken Quesidilla, Stuffed Mushroom Caps, Clams Casino, Fresh Mozzarella and Beefsteak Tomatoes

Salads- East Wind's House and Caesar

Pasta-- We are to selected 2-- tri color penne, linguine (with red or clam sauce), orecchiette Primavera, Cheese tortellini

Entrees -selected one from each type--

-Baked sea scallops, shrimp oreganatta, seasonal seafood special
-Roasted Pancetta Chicken, Fresh Herb Crusted Chicken Breast, Pan Seared French Chicken Breast
-NY shell steak,Veal Rollatine,Grilled Pork Medallions,

This also includes rolls, vegetables and potato and desserts, coffee and tea-----$24.95 per guest

34.95 per guest for beer, wine and soda
39.95 per guest with premium brand liquors

Hope that helps

With the doors, I didn't notice them until I was up close and I sure once everything -food and people - are in there you will never even notice.

Are any of you staying there on your wedding night?

swags-
I just saw that your name is Jamie too :)
even spelt the same way as me :)
Anyways...thanks so much for all the info! Very helpful....Is there a minimum # of people?
Everything sounds pretty good....can't believe no break but thats the catering business for ya!
I am staying in an ambassador suite the night of my wedding and the next day...then off to our honeymoon...:)

Re: Any East Wind Brides...

That is cool! It is always nice to meet another Jamie!!!!! There were so few of us when we were little.

No minimum! Did they give you more then the 20% break on the room? Since you are at the Inn because we were told only 20% off I think. I know that I was told yesterday that the suite was originally going for 500 or 550 a night but it is now going for 450. So you may want to double check what the 20% came off of.

Where are you going on your honeymoon? We are going to Sandals St. Lucia!

Re: Any East Wind Brides...

Jamie-
To be honest with I don't think they gave me ANY discount!! :( Hmm now I'm mad. This is too funny...we are also going to Sandals St. Lucia!! LOL
