Any experiences with paying vendors off before the wedding?

Any experiences with paying vendors off before the wedding?
It would give me piece of mind to pay off all the vendors before the wedding (excluding tips). Its just one less thing to stress about on the wedding day. But FH said its not smart to completely pay off a vendor because they can always run with your money. We have contracts and all, so I dont see the big deal. But I was wondering if anyone else paid there vendors in full long before the wedding? Pros or cons?

I have paid everyone except the limos....and its a great feeling because I feel like things will be less choatic this way

I started paying them off about a wk ago...and finished with the last vendor on tues....so about 2 wks ealry

I paid them all off before hand. I had no problems whatsoever.

We only had our florist paid. Of course, we were almost unable to pay the photographer because my mom 'put the bank check in a safe place'
After the wedding we were running around the house for at least 20 minutes looking for it

I paid them about a month and a half before...except for the hall, that was the week before.

Some of my contracts specify that I have to pay in full X amt of time before the wedding day. I don't have a problem with it.

I paid almost all of them off before hand--just handed tip envelopes at the end of the night. The only exceptions were my musicians at the ceremony (since the only time we saw them was the day of) and for our after party at the Woodlands (which we decided to have, literally at the eleventh hour!).

Everyone got paid off that night. I had my Dad handle it. He's a real pro...
hmm...maybe I could rent him out?

I actually have 2 vendors that request that they not be paid in full before hand. I only paid off my limos so far.

I paid my limos off before the wedding and I regret it because I had a lot of problems with them that day

WE have been paid off with the vendors for over 2 months now. It wa FH's idea. It was the only way he could sleep at night. He hates when he owes money to anybody. He can't relax. The only thing we have left is the hall. And that is the bigger chunk!!!

I paid EVERY SINGLE vendor off before the wedding so I didnt have to worry about it. They all did a great job! (still waiting to see photos and videos)

The only one I paid in full before was the band and they showed up and were amazing.
I had all the envelopes ready to go and in my dad's envelope. The only one I forgot was the caterer- he insisted on being paid for everything after the event and I forgot the checks! Luckily we were staying there overnight so my dad came with my check book in the morning.

I rather pay ahead too. If you picked your vendors with confidence, I say why not. like someone else posted, you do have contracts. It's less to think about that day.

yeah there are a few contracts that require me to pay before, luckily they are vendors I completely trust.
