Any Geeky Brides Out There??

Hey you guys! Now that I have my venue in place I'm now just looking at things to make my wedding very unique and a reflection of us as a couple.

We are videogame/anime/cartoon/Star Trek people so I will be walking down the aisle to either video game music or a movie soundtrack! Anybody else doing anything out of the ordinary ?

My DH is a nerd-alert and he insisted we have even the tinest touch of 'him' in the wedding LOL. Lets be honest, most of the wedding is about the bride and her special touches. We walked into the reception to Star Wars. He really loves Lindsey Sterling, the violinist who got her start making video game music. Her music is very pretty and I'm sure you can find a beautiful song to walk down the aisle to. We are going to see her in concert, semi-against my will, but I will admit her music is beautiful....as is a lot of video game music.

You could also get him your favorite video game themed cake as a grooms cake for your rehearsal dinner. That's what I did. Ill try to upload a picture. It was totally awesome! He's ADDICTED to gaming!

Again, FH is holding down the nerdy fort for us lol but I want plan to incorporate batman, his absolute fav, wherever I can. I want to keep it so its very clearly personalized, but not a themed wedding...ordering my batman garter very soon! Also bought him batman cufflinks and will have a batman grooms cake. There is a bride on here who posted her review fairly recently who did all of this fabulously and it is so very similar to what I am planning. There are many geeky brides and FH on here, so don't feel lonely!

I know you said Star Trek and this is Star Wars, but how about light sabers when you walk into your reception? Always thought that was cute. FH and I definitely toyed with the idea of the Cantina song for our walk in, but its a little too off from the batman stuff.

Yes please to the picture! We are going to make our wedding cake a combination of Marvel, video games and Capcom! But I'm trying to decide on one geeky theme though. I also was thinking of ordering a bouquet made of comic book pages! So many ways to make it our own that I'm having trouble narrowing it down! I like X-men, he likes Capcom lol

FH and I are Geeks.

I will be walking down the isle to Storybook Love from Princess Bride and the recessional will be the Throne Room music from Star Wars.

When our wedding party enters the reception each couple will be introduced with songs from movies. My parents with Celebrate by Kool and the Gang, my Mom's favorite song fits the criteria as it was in Muppets from Space and his parents with their Irish background will be walking in to Concerning Hobbits from the LOTR Fellowship of the Ring...they won't know the difference as they will be 87 & 88 years old. lol FH is the baby of the family, they had him in their early 40's. It's a tin whistle with Irish sounding music, they will be happy with it.

BM and MOH will be introduced with Oh Yeah by Yelo from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, probably followed by Flash (Aaahhh) Gordon theme by Queen or something of theirs from The Highlander. Next up is All You Need is Love by the Beatles in Yellow Submarine. The last one I am still iffy on. Might be the theme music from Dr. Who or Three Musketeers or something.

As I love Ironman - we will have the riff and only the riff looped of Back in Black by ACDC.

We also bought some photobooth props 1/2 off after Halloween and I have 2 Lightsabers.
We are doing a make shift photobooth because we don't want to spend what little we have on a real one with an attendant.

Other than that pretty much everything else will be traditional. We don't want to beat them over the head with it.
