Any good ideas for a weekend getaway?

Not looking to travel too far... would like some romance, maybe ski lodge kinda thing... Fh & I will be celebrating 8 years!

ETA: Caesar's pocono palace might be a bit too much, but i know how nice that place is

I don't know of any particular resorts. But I am sure if you looked into them, there should be some in NY, PA, and NJ that are nice.

ETA: I've heard of Camelback like the above poster mentioned. It is in PA in the Poconos.

I was thinking the same thing Ali. I think thats a great suggestion for a romantic weekend. The wineries are cute and their are tons of romantic restaurants. Its not crowded in the winter either.

Its actually not that far, especially if you take the Orient Point ferry but either way, its not far at all and its so beautiful. Its an hour and 18 minutes from New London. When FH and I go to RI to see friends we take our time doing a nice drive out, enjoy the ferry and then shoot up to RI.

Even driving around, its less then 3 1/2 hours from the Throgs Neck.

I LOVE the Mohonk but its super pricey and theres not much to do around.

Our anniversary is in April and we went to the Roxbury, its super close to Hunter Mtn and its in this cute lil town. The hotel is awesome tho!

Stay at the Lefevre Inn at New Paltz. I went to college there and the town is great!

For our first Valentine's Day we went up to Cooperstown for the weekend. It was a lot of fun and there are tons of things to do besides go to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
