on how I can honor my brothers in my wedding? I lost both of them and would like to have some sort of symbol in their honor, but I am afraid it might upset my parents. Do you have any ideas of how I could do this and be subtle? Thanks!!!

Re: Any ideas
How about a little note, or poem in the programs?
Or, if you are doing a rose petal toss, you can attach a little note to the cones, or cups, you use to distribute them....saying that you are tossing in celebration of not only your marriage...but in happy rememberance of them...

Thank you ladies those are great ideas. I guess I really need to discuss wanting to do something like this with my parents. It is just a tough topic for us all, and one I always feel awkard wanting to discuss.

Re: Any ideas
we had My hubbys sisters picture along with his Dad & our Grandparents in frames on the mantel behind us @ the reception. We also listed her name & others in our program. I was really close with my Grandma & had a favorite pin of hers attached to my bouquet. There is a fine line with upsetting people though-it's a personal choice. Good luck your brothers will be watchin either way IMO

What a difficult situation. I'm sorry I have no ideas, just wanted to wish you luck in your decision. I agree that your brothers will be watching anyway.

Re: Any ideas
My friend lost her brother (25 yrs old) the year before her weddding. She honored him in a couple special ways...I thought it would be really sad but it was very special and it made me actually smile. She had a candle lit on the alter during her entire mass. In the programs she wrote that the candle was lit in his honor. It was done in a subtle but special way.
Instead of favors they made a donation in his name. They had scrolls on everyone's plate with a beautifully written saying about him. The watermark of the page was a picture of the my friend, her brother and husband together. I wish I could remember exactly what it said...because when I saw it I was afraid to open it thinking I would cry and it made me smile instead!
I hope you find the special way to honor your brothers that works for you and your family.
