what about a limo to go to the vineyards in LI. you can surprise him with the limo...then surprise him by picking up his friends and heading out east to taste some wine!

That's what I was going to say. FH and I are really into wine, so if this is something you guys like, it's sooo much fun!!

OH! And there is also the Blue Point brewery somewhere on the island, that's a fun day if you don't like wine, it's beer instead!

A coworkers FH just turned 30 she rented a hall and had a casino themed surprise party...it was really nice!!

great idea!! FH turns 30 in december.

it is very very hard to find a house in the hamptons for just a weekend. Most houses are monthly, 2 months or whole summer and they range from $20k and higher for a month most of them.

For dh's 30th, i threw him a surprise party at a place in the city, i rented the top floor of this lounge for ourselves, the space was perfect. Very cozy and more than enough room for everybody. It was a bordello type style place, red velvet, black leather and leopard decor, lighting was red too, even had a stripper pole. Hired burlesque dancers too to perform. We all had a great time.

If its in the summer, what i had originally wanted to do was throw a party at a suite in the city. Most hotels wont allow more than 20 guests so i was out of luck. Only 2 places allowed it really, one was night hotel which is real nice, inside space was too small so as much as i liked it, i had to say no. However they huge outside terrace with the suite and 2 levels, it was gorgeous but dh's bday was in february so that wasn't an option. Also Rivington hotel has a real nice big suite you can use for parties. I had wanted to rent a suite, hire dancers and rent casino tables but for the amount of guests i had they all said no except night hotel, but like i said i felt space was too small, outside was big though
