My FH will be turning 30 this Sept. I am pulling my hair out of my head trying to think of a great way to celebrate it. I want it to be something that involves all his friends, and I want it to be over the top! lol Any ideas?!?! lol

Re: Any Ideas???
What I really wanted to do was rent a house in the hamptons for a weekend....and then rent a lamborghini and drive there and all of his friends would be there he would have no idea! But not sure though because I wanted to get the house when the bars would still be open...but its nearly impossible now it seems like every house is booked!!! grrr lol

Re: Any Ideas???
My FH is turning 30 in November. I've been trying to think of something to do for him too! I want to do a surprise party (even though he already said he doesn't want a party) but I think it would be great. My only issue is that I want to invite all his friends and some family, but I don't want to be the one to pay for the whole thing, so I guess that means I can't really rent out a place to have it. So I'm thinking of just inviting everyone to our favorite bar and we'll show up at a certain time so it'll still be a surprise but I won't have to pay for everyone! lol

Its very expensive to rent out a house in the hamptons - they usually go by the week. If you can find one that will do for the weekend for a reasonable amount then go for it - but what about a sports game or something like that. My FH loves basketball so for his 30th I got him tickets for basketball...

Hmm is he into any sports? Long Island Ducks games are so fun... as is Belmont Racetrack if he's into horse races.

You could get some of his family in on it and maybe they can help split the costs?

Re: Any Ideas???
When FH turned 35 I threw him a surprise party at a VFW hall in Queens. The price included all the food, open bar, DJ, linens and cake. It really wasn't so expensive I just made payments.
For centerpieces I tied balloons to model cars (he was into them)
He loved it and our friends still talk about it..so the wedding now has to be spectaular.
So you might want to check one of those places out

For FH's 30th we had all of his family and friends at Shea. There were 23 of us in total. Then we went back to my mom's house for a BBQ.
it was a surprise for him.

Re: Any Ideas???
For FH's 26th birthday a few years ago, I threw him a surprise party at a bowling alley Ok I know it sounds cheesy, but we had SOOOOO much fun. I rented out a few lanes, paid for some games, shoes, and food for everyone, and it was like we were kids again! I even brought a cake to the alley a few hours earlier and we surprised him with that too.
If you want something a little more 'adult-like' there's 300 in Melville on 110. It's an 'adult' bowling alley that caters and has a fully functional bar.....much more upscale than you're typical bowling alley.
But I must say, FH had a wonderful time and so did all of our friends. It took us back to our youth

Mine is turning 30 in August, and I'm planning to take him to the Poconos for some NASCAR thing.
Yup, my Bengali FH thinks he's Larry the Cable Guy.
