Re: any ideas for an economical shower???
My sister threw me a shower at the olive garden in centerreach and it was excellent. they have corner rooms that are divided by semi-walls; it was very private and away from the rest of the restaurant. The food was great and the staff was extremely friendly and even carried the gifts out to the cars for us. the cost was $10.50 pp, which she found to be very inexpensive, after looking around. it includes salad, breadsticks (i love their breadsticks), choice of 5 entrees (lasagne, eggplant parm, ravioli, fett alfredo, and i forgot the last), and unlimited coffee, tea and soda. my bridesmaid got the cake from BJ's. it was a very nice shower.

it could also be a potluck shower and the guests could bring their 'recipe' and the recipes could be gathered and given to the bride (hee hee ) as a starter collection.

We are having a BBQ in a relative's backyard instead of going to a restaurant.

My brother offered to have the shower at his house. So my mom gladly accepted!

it doesn't have to be at a restaurant we just did my friends shower at her neighbors house it was great!! it was a light lunch thing- her neighbor just made a couple kinds of chicken salads and we had some heavey dips ( taco dip with nachos, bruchetta, mozzarella and tomatoes) and then a cake for dessert... not over the top, but no one cared and everyone had fun and was more relxed becasue it was at home showers are getting out of hand, i think... keep it simple

My shower will probably be at my FMIL's house, pot-luck style.

Re: any ideas for an economical shower???
At home showers sometimes wind up being just as expensive -- and a lot more work -- than restaurant showers. The $10 package at Olive Garden is the least expensive one I've heard of in 10 years of throwing showers. wow!

Actually, I was eating lunch in Wild Ginger (they may have a few locations in NY) and there was a bridal shower there at the time.. The girls looked like they were having a great time.

Re: any ideas for an economical shower???
I plan on doing the arrangements for my shower too.
My mom lives far and I don't want my MOH to have that expense. My FSIL is my BM, but really on b/c she's my FHs sister.
So any suggestions are welcome. I want to do it at a restaurant, nothing to big, but it will be the end of Feb or beginning of March, so has to be indoors.
Nothing against Olive Garden, but coming from an Italian family- it wouldn't fly
Any ideas?

my shower is going to be at my aunts house and basically its just going to be passed food, not anything sit down, very casual.
