My mother and I are INCREDIBLY close, I know there is the father/daughter dance, but I want to do something special for my mom too, you know share some of the spotlight. Any ideas? Anyone ever do a mother/daughter dance????

Re: Any ideas for me?
i too have an incredible relationship with my mom...not only did i have both parents give me away, but i also had a dance with my mom(danced to 'the wind beneath my wings)...it was a suprise too so she was thrilled and so taken back...and i'm so happy i have these pictures to look back on (and so is she!)
You could do a rose ceremony during your ceremony - it thanks the parents and honors the mothers.

Me and my mom are really close also. I am having both of my parents walk me down the aisle. Then during the ceremony we are going to have the officiant talk about how important it is to have a good role model for what a marriage should be like (both of our parents have been married for >30 years) and invite our mothers up to do readings. Then they will each light a candle which we will use to light our unity candle.

I'm having my mom do a reading and since we are not doing a bouquet toss I am dedicating my bouquet to my mom.

I would say have them both give you away as well as dancing a song with her or maybe dedicating a poem or presenting her with a significant gift during the reception.
