Any info/past experience at Thatched Cottage

Hello girls,
Any info on or past experience at Thatched Cottage?
We went there today I loved the place and they have a very nice smaller room to fit our wedding (which is going to be for about 80 ppl).
The only thing is we're going to be the second wedding and the place looks pretty small. Any experience with that? Did the ceremonies/ cocktail hours interfere?

Any thoughts will be welcome

I went to a wedding there in July. We were in the larger room and there was another wedding at the same time in the smaller room. We never really noticed that there were 2 weddings going on. (I only realized bc some woman asked me in the bathroom how long I knew John and Jane and we were there for a different wedding.)

The place was really beautiful. During coctail hour everyone sat outside. They must stagger the timing of the weddings bc there was only 1 coctail hour at a time.

My dad got married there about 4 years ago. I loved it! The outside was beautiful!!

Hmmm...I'm getting married there in July and they told me that they only do 1 wedding at a time. Very weird...

We were told that for a night wedding our number of guests would be under their minimum but that we could book if we would allow another event to take place in the smaller room. We ended up booking a day wedding so this didnt matter.

We booked a Saturday day wedding, and our wedding was the only wedding going on at that point. Another wedding started 1/2 hour after ours. If you have any questions feel free to FM me. I love The Thatched Cottage, and am so happy I had my wedding there! GL!

i was told that they may have another party going on in the smaller room during our wedding, but not another wedding. This is for Sunday Daytime though.

We are the smaller room wedding and we want to have our on Sunday night (5-11pm) that’s why I'm concerned. I feel like the place is a bit too small for two weddings at a time and I wouldn't want to be the 'other small wedding' when all they'll care about is the 200+ wedding going on next door

I am getting married at the Thatched Cottage and we were also told that they only do one wedding at a time but another event may be going on in the smaller room.

I think that i might call and complain- one of the major reasons that i booked here was b/c i was told that i would be the only wedding going on.... I'm kinda pissed right now.

Maybe the date you're having your wedding there’s only one wedding going on but they do have two weddings ate a time (maybe they don't consider my wedding to be a wedding but just an event because of the small amount of ppl, in which case I'm really pissed too).
They did say that the ceremonies and cocktail hours will not interfere in any way but FH is concerned that the guest will be able to look out the window and see another ceremony taking place...

This annoys me as well because they advertise, 'Only one wedding at a time.' It is pretty much their selling point.

I was just told that as long as you have met a requirement(ie- i guarented 165 guests for a friday night) that you will be the inly bride. However if you have a smaller wedding- then there can be two weddings. There also can always be another party going on in the other room- just not another wedding if you have the big wedding.

Thanks for the info. We are using the larger room but our wedding is still on the small side. We are guaranteeing 100 people. We were assured that there would not be another wedding going on at that time. I will definitely be asking about this.

So the one wedding at a time is a big issue. I thought that my FH was just exaggeration but now I do see his point. Any thoughts on that ?

I think you should go with your initial reaction and stick with the first choice. Since you're a smaller wedding you will probably regarded as the 'other event'. It's your special day, you should be the MAIN EVENT.
